How It Works

How the NEET College Predictor Works

Enter two inputs, get instant predictions — here's exactly what happens.

01

Enter Your NEET Rank

Input your NEET All India Rank (AIR) from your official NEET scorecard — not your score, but your rank.

02

Select Your Category

Choose General, OBC, SC, ST, or PwD. Cutoffs differ significantly across categories — selecting correctly is critical.

03

We Match Against 2025 Cutoffs

Your rank is compared against NEET 2025 closing ranks for AIIMS, JIPMER, BHU, AMU and 600+ government medical colleges.

04

See Your Chances

Each college is labelled Safe (rank ≤ cutoff) or Moderate (within 15% of cutoff) — so you know exactly where to apply.

Quick Reference

Which Colleges Can You Get at Your NEET Rank?

For General category (AIQ). OBC, SC, ST and PwD cutoffs are significantly relaxed — use the predictor above with your actual rank and category.

How to Build Your NEET College List — 5 Rules

A clear framework to make the most of your NEET rank before counselling.

01

AIQ First, State Quota Second

All India Quota (15%) opens top colleges across every state. Lock your AIQ choices first, then add state-quota options from your home state as backup.

02

AIIMS > Everything Else

If any AIIMS campus is within your rank's reach — even a newer one — it almost always beats a non-AIIMS government college. The brand and research exposure are unparalleled.

03

Category Determines Everything

SC, ST and OBC-NCL candidates can access colleges 3–10× more competitive than their GEN peers at the same rank. Always filter by your actual category, never GEN.

04

Add Moderate Picks to Your List

Cutoffs shift 2–8% every year. Colleges in the Moderate zone (rank within 15% of cutoff) are worth including — especially for rounds 2 and 3 of MCC counselling.

05

Don't Skip Geography

State quota seats in your home state are far more accessible. If you're from UP, Maharashtra or Tamil Nadu, your state's government colleges offer hundreds of extra seats at relaxed cutoffs.

Bond & Stipend

State-wise MBBS Bond and Stipend List 2026

Every state government medical college requires MBBS graduates to serve in rural/government facilities for 1–3 years or pay a bond penalty. Karnataka's ₹50 Lakh bond is the highest in India — factor this in before choosing a college.

Bond penalties can equal 1–2 years of MBBS fees

Students admitted on a government quota MBBS seat must serve in designated government hospitals post-internship. Breaking the bond means paying the full penalty upfront. Check your state's bond terms before accepting a seat.

Important for counselling: New NMC-approved colleges typically have lower cutoffs in their first 2-3 years as they build track record. They are a good option for students at the boundary of government MBBS eligibility. Always verify NMC recognition and hospital affiliation before joining.

* List based on NMC Letter of Permission (LOP) / Letter of Renewal (LOR) for 2025-26 session. Final seat matrix subject to NMC & MCC counselling notifications.

Fee Structure 2026

MBBS Fee Structure & NMC's 50% Govt-Fee Rule

The NMC 2024 regulation mandates that 50% of seats in private medical colleges must be offered at government college fee rates — effectively making half of all private MBBS seats affordable.

NMC 50% Seat Rule — What It Means for NEET 2026

Under the NMC Regulations 2024, every private medical college in India must offer exactly 50% of its MBBS seats at government college fee rates (typically ₹10,000–₹25,000/year). The remaining 50% can be charged at market rates. This rule applies to all NMC-recognised private colleges — so a 150-seat private college must offer 75 seats at ~₹15,000/year, not ₹15 Lakh/year. Seats are filled through NEET merit and MCC/state counselling — you cannot directly "choose" which fee tier.

Deemed Universities

₹15 – ₹30 Lakh / year

Deemed Private

CMC Vellore, Manipal etc. Fees vary widely. Check each college's fee committee order.

Key Implications for NEET 2026 Students

1

A private MBBS seat at govt fees (₹10–25K/year) costs ~₹70K total for 5.5 years vs ₹60–1.5 Crore at market rate — a massive difference.

2

The 50% rule does not apply to Deemed Universities — they have a separate fee committee process.

3

MCC and state counselling allocates govt-fee seats first to merit-list candidates — higher NEET rank = higher chance of landing a govt-rate seat in a private college.

4

Always check the NMC fee committee approval order for each private college — fees must match the approved schedule.

5

Karnataka, Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu have the highest number of private medical colleges covered by this rule.

* Fee data is indicative. Verify with NMC fee committee orders and the respective state Fee Regulatory Committee (FRC) before making admission decisions.
