How the JEE Rank Predictor Works

A transparent look at the prediction methodology behind this tool.

Step 01

Enter Marks & Shift

Input your raw JEE Main score (out of 300) and select the exact date and shift you appeared in. Each shift has a different difficulty level.

Step 02

Shift Normalization

The predictor anchors your marks against each shift's 99th-percentile marks threshold to neutralize difficulty differences — the same way NTA normalizes scores.

Step 03

Rank & Category Estimate

Percentile is converted to rank using the formula: Rank = ((100 − %ile) / 100) × 15.5 Lakh + 1. Category ranks are estimated using each category's pool fraction.

Data Source: The shift distribution table is calibrated from 47,220+ student submissions collected after the April 2026 JEE Main answer key release. Predictions are updated as more data is verified.
