CUET UG is the common entrance test for undergraduate admission to central universities such as Delhi University, BHU, JNU and Jamia Millia Islamia, along with hundreds of state, deemed and private universities. Some universities, like GGSIPU in Delhi, also run their own tests.

How University Admissions Work in 2027
CUET UG has replaced Class 12 cut-offs at central universities, so your board marks only need to meet each course's minimum — admission depends on your CUET score. You pick up to five tests from 13 languages, 23 domain subjects and the General Aptitude Test. The right combination matters more than anything else: DU's B.Com (Hons) needs different subjects from its BA Economics, so check your target courses' subject mapping before you register in January.
After results, each university runs its own admission portal — DU's CSAS, BHU's, JNU's and so on — and you apply to each separately. Missing a portal deadline is the most common way students lose a seat they qualified for, so add those dates to your calendar as soon as they're announced.
Not every university uses CUET for everything. GGSIPU (IP University) runs IPU CET for BBA, BCA, BJMC and other programmes across 100+ Delhi colleges, while using JEE Main for B.Tech and CLAT for law. Private universities like NMIMS and Symbiosis also have their own tests (see the Management stream).
